Kebbi School Abduction Sparks Fresh Outrage as PDP Accuses Tinubu Govt of Neglecting Citizens’ Safety

Fear, grief, and renewed concerns over insecurity have once again taken center stage following the tragic attack on Government Girls Secondary School in Maga, Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State. The incident, which reportedly claimed the life of Vice Principal Hassan Yakubu Makuku and led to the abduction of 25 students, has triggered strong reactions across the political space.

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has now openly criticized the Federal Government, accusing the administration of President Tinubu of focusing more on politics than on the safety of Nigerians. In a strongly worded statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the PDP described the attack as barbaric and deeply disturbing.

The party argued that the heartbreaking development is another indication of the growing insecurity many Nigerians continue to face daily. According to the PDP, protecting lives and property remains the primary responsibility of any government, and any failure in that regard demands immediate action rather than political distractions.

As families await news of the abducted students, the emotional impact of the tragedy continues to spread beyond Kebbi State. Questions are again being asked: How long will schools remain vulnerable? How many more communities will live under fear before stronger security measures emerge?

The PDP extended sympathy to the parents of the abducted students, the family of the late Vice Principal, members of staff, students, school management, and the Kebbi State government. The party also called on President Tinubu to urgently prioritize security and take decisive measures capable of ending the repeated cycle of violent attacks and abductions across the country.

With insecurity remaining one of Nigeria’s most pressing challenges, many citizens will be watching closely for actions that go beyond political statements.
