A Nigerian lady has gone viral after making an emotional appeal to men, lamenting what she described as the growing shortage of serious suitors and the frustration many single women now face in the modern dating scene.
In a video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, the visibly emotional woman questioned why many men no longer appear interested in pursuing committed relationships, saying countless women remain trapped in endless “talking stages” that never develop into genuine romance.
Speaking in Yoruba, she pleaded with men to take the initiative, insisting that many single women are available and genuinely looking for meaningful relationships.
“You men don’t want to get married again. Who exactly do you want to leave us for? We that are single are very much available. Please, toast us,” she said.
The lady explained that she initially intended to keep her feelings private but decided to speak out because of what she described as an increasingly discouraging dating experience. According to her, since the beginning of the year, every interaction she has had has ended at the talking stage without progressing into an actual relationship.
She humorously warned that if the trend continues, single women might eventually begin confronting men publicly over their reluctance to make genuine romantic commitments.
Her heartfelt comments quickly attracted widespread attention across social media, triggering lively conversations about the changing dynamics of dating, courtship and marriage in Nigeria.
While many women in the comment section said they could relate to her experience, others argued that both men and women have become more cautious when choosing partners due to financial pressures, trust issues and changing relationship expectations.
Some users also suggested that the rise of social media and online dating has altered how people approach relationships, making long-term commitment more challenging for many young adults.
Although opinions remain divided, the viral video has reignited discussions about the realities of modern dating and why many singles believe finding genuine love has become more difficult than ever.
