Social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has finally addressed the speculation surrounding his strained relationship with music superstar Davido, making explosive claims that have sent social media into a frenzy.
In a trending video circulating online, VDM alleged that his fallout with the award-winning singer began after he turned down an offer of N50 million to campaign for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is Davido’s uncle.
According to the activist, members of Davido’s camp invited him to meet the governor and allegedly offered him the huge sum to support the campaign. However, VDM insisted he rejected the proposal despite the tempting amount, claiming he chose to remain true to his principles.
Speaking in Pidgin English, VDM said Davido and his associates contacted him with the offer, adding that many people would have accepted such an amount without hesitation. He maintained that he declined the money, insisting those involved could confirm his account.
The outspoken activist also disclosed that his last meaningful conversation with Davido happened during the controversy involving a young man in Ghana. At the time, Davido had publicly promised to give the individual $5,000, but the payment was reportedly delayed, leading many social media users to accuse VDM of using the incident for publicity.
VDM explained that after receiving criticism online, he reached out to Davido through a direct message, reminding him about the promised payment. According to him, the singer eventually fulfilled the pledge after the reminder, bringing the controversy to an end.
His latest revelations have reignited conversations across social media, with fans divided over the allegations. While some praised VDM for claiming he rejected the offer, others questioned the circumstances surrounding the alleged proposal and the breakdown of his friendship with Davido.
