Pantami Reveals Why He’s Confident of Winning APC Gombe Governorship Ticket
Political calculations ahead of the 2027 elections may already be taking shape in Gombe State as former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, has openly declared confidence in securing the APC governorship ticket.
Speaking during an interview on TVC, Pantami said his optimism is not based on emotions or political speculation but on what he described as “strong evidence.” According to him, several independent polls conducted both physically and online have consistently placed him ahead of other contenders in the race for the All Progressives Congress governorship primary.
The former minister revealed that he emerged as the leading candidate in all 13 polls conducted so far, insisting that the figures reflect the growing support he enjoys among party members and the people of Gombe State. His statement has already sparked conversations within political circles, especially as discussions surrounding the 2027 elections continue to gather momentum across Nigeria.
Pantami also highlighted his long-standing relationship with the APC and his involvement in the formation of the ruling party. He recalled playing a role during the merger between the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), which eventually produced the APC.
In further strengthening his political credentials, Pantami noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed him as a special adviser during the 2023 presidential campaign council, a move he believes reflects the trust and recognition he enjoys within the party leadership.
Beyond politics, Pantami said his performance as minister remains one of the major reasons many people continue to support him. He pointed to his contributions to Nigeria’s digital economy and his efforts toward the development of Gombe State during his time in office.
