BREAKING: Court Orders Arrest of Adeniyi Adeyemi as PFIPC Scandal Takes Shocking Twist

The Federal High Court in Abuja has escalated the ongoing PFIPC controversy by ordering the immediate arrest of self-styled Director-General of the alleged “non-existent” Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi.

The dramatic development came after Justice Mohammed Umar granted a bench warrant following an oral application by police prosecutor, Mr. Wisdom Madaki, during proceedings on Wednesday. The ruling marks a significant turning point in the high-profile case that has continued to dominate headlines across Nigeria.

Adeyemi was expected to appear before the court to take his plea on an eight-count charge bordering on alleged forgery, fraud and impersonation in a case marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025. However, despite the matter being listed on the court’s official cause list, the defendant was absent once again.

Although his lawyer, Mr. Genesis Francis, announced his appearance before the court, Adeyemi himself failed to show up for the scheduled arraignment, prompting fresh concerns over his continued absence.

During the proceedings, prosecution counsel Wisdom Madaki informed the court that the defendant had repeatedly failed to honour court appearances, urging the judge to take decisive action. Justice Umar subsequently approved the request and issued a bench warrant authorising security agencies to arrest Adeyemi and produce him before the court.

The latest order comes just days after Adeyemi missed an earlier arraignment over the same allegations involving certificate forgery. Before disappearing from public view, he had claimed during a television interview that he was staying away because of alleged threats to his life, insisting he was not hiding from law enforcement authorities.

With a court-issued arrest warrant now in place, attention is expected to shift to security agencies responsible for executing the order. The case has continued to generate nationwide interest as Nigerians await the next chapter in the unfolding PFIPC scandal and whether Adeyemi will finally appear before the court to answer the allegations against him.
