Popular preacher Pastor Funke Adejumo of Agape Christian Ministries has stirred conversations on marriage and relationships after advising men not to lose themselves in an effort to satisfy every expectation of their wives.
Speaking during a sermon, the clergywoman said no man can completely please a woman, urging husbands to love and care for their spouses without placing themselves under unrealistic pressure.
According to Adejumo, women naturally desire change and self-improvement, a trait she illustrated by pointing to common beauty routines such as wearing wigs, artificial nails and other cosmetic enhancements.
Addressing married men directly, she said, “Don’t ever kill yourself trying to please a woman. I’m a woman speaking to you, and there is nobody who can please a woman to the fullest.”
She explained that even though women believe they were beautifully created by God, many still seek to alter aspects of their appearance, arguing that this demonstrates how impossible it is for anyone to satisfy every personal desire or expectation.
Using the examples of artificial nails and wigs, the pastor remarked that if women continue making changes despite their natural attributes, husbands should understand that perfection is unattainable and should not measure their worth by their ability to meet every expectation.
Adejumo encouraged men to remain loving, supportive and responsible in their marriages but warned against emotional, physical or financial exhaustion in the pursuit of constant approval.
