Fresh Twist Emerges as Obi Supporter Demands Full Courtroom Scrutiny
The growing political and legal confrontation involving Peter Obi and Kenneth Okonkwo has taken another dramatic turn, as former National Interest Party presidential candidate, Eunice Atuejide, publicly challenged Okonkwo to disclose every piece of evidence he claims to possess against the former Labour Party flag bearer.
Speaking during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time, Atuejide made it clear that she wants the ongoing dispute to proceed to court, arguing that Nigerians deserve complete transparency regarding the allegations currently dominating political discussions.
Her remarks come amid the escalating feud between Obi and his former ally, Kenneth Okonkwo, who has repeatedly claimed to possess information and documents that allegedly implicate the NDC presidential candidate in wrongdoing linked to party affairs.
Rather than calling for the controversy to be settled privately, Atuejide insisted that every allegation should be subjected to public and legal scrutiny.
“I challenge Kenneth Okonkwo to disclose in court everything he has against Peter Obi that incriminates him,” she declared during the interview.
What makes the statement particularly significant is that Atuejide openly described herself as one of Obi’s strongest supporters. According to her, genuine support should not mean blind loyalty but a willingness to demand accountability from political leaders.
She explained that she has invested her trust in Obi because she believes he represents a different style of leadership from what many Nigerians have experienced over the years. However, she stressed that such trust must withstand public examination.
Atuejide further revealed that she intends to encourage Obi to pursue the legal battle fully, arguing that the courtroom provides the best platform to separate facts from accusations.
The former presidential candidate also spoke emotionally about the example political leaders set for younger generations, noting that she wants her children and other Nigerians to see that public figures can be subjected to scrutiny regardless of their popularity.
Her intervention adds a new dimension to an already heated political dispute that has captured national attention. While Obi’s legal team has dismissed Okonkwo’s allegations as false and defamatory, Okonkwo has continued to insist that he possesses evidence to support his claims.
