Boko Haram Attacks Borno Village, Pastor Among Five Killed

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have launched a deadly attack on Tarfa Village in Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State, killing a pastor and four other residents. The assailants reportedly invaded the community on motorbikes around the evening hours, firing shots indiscriminately and setting houses and shops ablaze.

According to reports, the attackers operated for over an hour, forcing residents to flee for safety. The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Borno State, Rev. John Bakeni, confirmed that Pastor Evangelist Musa Umoru of the EYN Church was among those killed. He added that the entire village was largely destroyed during the attack.

A survivor described the incident as devastating, noting that many villagers have abandoned their homes due to fear of further attacks. Residents have appealed to the government to urgently deploy more security personnel to the area.

The Borno State Police Command said it is verifying details of the incident as investigations continue.
