The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest of no fewer than 11 suspects linked to the killing of Arise News staff member, Somtochukwu Maduagwu, in Abuja. The Commissioner of Police in charge of the Federal Capital Territory, Miller Dantawaye, disclosed this during an interview on Arise Television.
Maduagwu was murdered during an armed robbery attack at her residence in Katampe in September. According to the police, investigations intensified following Dantawaye’s assumption of office, leading to the arrest of the suspects now in custody.
The FCT police boss revealed that charge sheets have been completed and arrangements are underway to arraign the suspects.
He assured Nigerians that prosecution would begin as soon as the new year, reaffirming the police commitment to justice for the slain journalist.
