Popular Nigerian activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has launched a scathing attack on Rita Daniels, mother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, accusing her of pushing her daughter into marriage with billionaire politician Ned Nwoko out of greed.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, VDM claimed that Rita Daniels forced Regina into the marriage at a young age, prioritizing wealth over happiness.
“Rita Daniels pushed her daughter into that marriage because of money. Regina was just 19 then; she didn’t even explore her youth before being handed over to a man old enough to be her father,” VDM alleged.
He further accused Rita of valuing financial gains above her daughter’s emotional well-being and freedom.
Rita Daniels Fires Back
Responding to the backlash, Rita Daniels defended herself and her daughter’s marriage, denying that it was driven by money. She argued that Regina contributed more to Ned Nwoko’s political ambitions than people realize.
“Regina supported him with $50,000 (about ₦72 million) during his campaign,” Rita said, insisting that Ned benefited from her daughter’s fame and resources, not the other way around.
VDM Doubles Down
Not backing down, VDM countered Rita’s claims, insisting that she must take responsibility for Regina’s current marital woes.
“Rita Daniels is the reason Regina is suffering now. She sold her off because she saw Ned’s billions. Regina still loves Ned, but she’s a victim — a victim of her mother’s decisions,” he said.
