A Nigerian woman, Grace Ofure, has stirred intense debate after her bold statement about women who frequently get approached by men.
Speaking during a podcast with Daddy Freeze, Grace Ofure said women should reflect on their actions if they constantly attract men’s advances.
She said: “Women, if you’re going out every day and men keep toasting you, sit down at home and ask yourself — what am I doing wrong?”
According to her, how a woman presents herself publicly determines the kind of attention she receives. Grace explained that a woman with self-respect naturally commands respect, while one who appears “too available” will attract all kinds of men.
Her statement has since gone viral, sparking mixed reactions among Nigerians.
While some netizens supported her message about self-image and boundaries, others argued that confidence or dressing style shouldn’t automatically translate to availability or lack of decency.
One user, Gen Tu, commented: “It’s not always about doing something wrong — society often misreads confidence and presence.”
Another, Stephanie Anthony, added: “Dressing influences perception, but women should wear what makes them confident, not what pleases others.”
However, some agreed with Grace, noting that presentation affects perception, urging ladies to “carry themselves with class to avoid wrong attention.”
The conversation continues to trend across social media platforms, with many Nigerians divided on whether Grace Ofure’s statement promotes self-awareness or reinforces gender stereotypes.
