Nigerian reality TV star and Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has responded to critics who accused her of being insensitive for clubbing shortly after her sister’s burial.
Phyna recently lost her younger sister, Ruth Otabor, who died in a tragic accident involving a Dangote truck in August. The reality star laid her sister to rest in September. However, a viral video showing Phyna partying alongside Nollywood actress Regina Daniels stirred controversy online, with many social media users accusing her of moving on too quickly.
Amid the criticism, Phyna took to her 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account to share her thoughts, emphasizing that grief is a deeply personal experience. She wrote: “Grieving has no manual and no timetable.”
Her response came shortly after Regina Daniels publicly defended her, urging Nigerians to stop judging others for how they process pain and loss.
Phyna’s message has since sparked mixed reactions, with many fans applauding her for speaking up, while others insisted that public figures should be more sensitive about their actions during mourning periods.
