Peter Obi Condemns Kwara Bandit Attacks, Demands Urgent Government Action

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has decried the growing wave of violence in Kwara State, urging the government to act swiftly to protect lives and restore peace.

Obi, in a statement issued on Tuesday, described the latest bandit attack as a national security concern that requires immediate intervention.

He lamented the tragic loss of lives in the recent assault by armed bandits on communities in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara, where several residents and vigilante members were reportedly killed.

“The continued bloodshed across Nigeria is unacceptable. The government must rise above rhetoric and take concrete measures to secure our people. Every Nigerian life is precious, and protecting lives and property is the primary responsibility of leadership,” Obi stated.

The former presidential candidate extended his condolences to the grieving families and communities, praying for strength and healing. He further emphasized that insecurity, if unchecked, will continue to hinder development, discourage investment, and deepen poverty.

Calls are mounting from residents and opposition groups for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to intensify efforts in combating the growing menace of banditry in Kwara State.
