Tacha Urges Nigerians to Hold Leaders Accountable Beyond Lagos and Tinubu

Controversial reality show star Anita Natacha Akide, widely known as Tacha, has called out Nigerians for what she describes as selective criticism during the ongoing economic crisis in the country.

The former Big Brother Naija contestant criticized supporters of politicians for their focus on the development of Lagos State and the administration of President Bola Tinubu alone.

Tacha emphasized that the nation is facing significant challenges because citizens are failing to hold their political representatives accountable. She pointed out that there are 36 state governors, 109 senators, and 360 members of the House of Representatives who share the responsibility for the welfare of their constituencies.

Despite an increase in federal allocations, Tacha noted that some state governors continue to pay below the minimum wage. Her comments come in response to a recent statement by social media influencer @Scott Iguma, who labeled Yorubas living in Lagos as tribalists, expressing concerns about their reluctance to sell land or rent to non-indigenes.

In a viral video posted on her X page, Tacha urged Nigerians to redirect their criticism towards other politicians rather than solely targeting Lagos State and President Tinubu. She stated, “This is the point I was trying to push across. If information has no agenda, you won’t rest. Nigerians act like there is only one political position in this country. You all need to understand that we have several political positions in Nigeria.”

Tacha further remarked, “These leaders we have voted into power understand that Nigerians like to drag only two people in the country; everyone believes their problem is Tinubu.”

Online reactions to Tacha’s comments have been mixed, with some users agreeing with her stance while others criticized the focus on individual leaders rather than systemic issues.
