Former Kaduna senator, Shehu Sani, has sparked fresh conversations online after reacting to bizarre reports that Brigitte Macron, wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, will appear in court to prove she is indeed a woman.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the outspoken former lawmaker questioned how such a sensitive issue could possibly be proven in an open courtroom.
Sani wrote:
“The French President’s wife Brigitte will be in Court to prove that she is a Woman and not a man as alleged. I wonder how she would do it in an open court as evidence, before the Judge and the Jury.”
Background to the Case
For years, Brigitte Macron has battled conspiracy theories alleging that she was born male. The rumours, which have circulated widely in France and beyond, recently escalated into a legal matter after defamatory claims forced the First Lady to seek justice.
According to reports, the case will see Brigitte Macron directly confront her accusers in a bid to clear her name and put an end to the speculation.
Nigerians React
Sani’s reaction immediately stirred mixed views among Nigerians online. Some users found his remark humorous, while others described the entire case as “strange and embarrassing” for a First Lady of such global recognition.

As the French courts prepare for what many are calling an “unprecedented case,” the story continues to trend internationally.
