Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has taken a stand against rumors regarding her HIV status by publicly sharing her latest test results, confirming that she is not infected with the virus.
The controversy ignited when content creator Olaoluwa Segun released a video claiming that Amusa was one of five Nigerian actors living with HIV. In response, Amusa labeled the allegation as false and malicious, stating her intention to pursue legal action against the source of the rumor.
Amusa recalled that she had first disclosed her HIV-negative status in 2019 as part of a health awareness initiative. “That post was about encouraging people to know their status, not to signal that I was affected,” she explained.
She emphasized the damaging nature of spreading unverified claims about her health. On Tuesday, Amusa shared a photo of her latest HIV test result on Instagram, reaffirming her negative status.
In her post, she urged her fans and the general public to prioritize regular HIV screenings. “I still feel the need to encourage individuals to get tested and know their HIV status. It is better to know your status so that you can guide yourself and save others too,” she captioned the image.
