Sosoliso plane crash survivor and singer, Kechi Okwuchi, has recently undergone eyelid surgery, marking another chapter in her remarkable recovery journey. The America’s Got Talent finalist shared the news on her social media platforms on Sunday, September 14, posting photos of herself in a hospital bed just three days post-operation.
Okwuchi, who survived the tragic December 10, 2005, plane crash that claimed 106 lives, including 60 of her schoolmates, has now undergone approximately 140 surgeries throughout her life. Her resilience has turned her into an inspirational figure, with her story of survival celebrated by many.
In her social media update, Okwuchi explained the necessity of the surgery, stating, “The skin on my eyelids is tight, making me unable to close my eyes or blink properly, which started to affect my eyesight, hence the need for surgery. My last surgery was in 2019 so it’s kinda weird to be back here after so long lol.”
Despite the challenges she faces, Okwuchi remains optimistic about her recovery and is determined to continue inspiring her followers with her unwavering positivity and strength.
