Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has fiercely responded to veteran actor Afeez Owo after his comments about their strained relationship during a recent YouTube podcast interview.
In the podcast, Behind The Fame – African List, Afeez Owo revealed that while he was once very close to Wunmi — often collaborating on scripts and film productions in her early career — their bond had since grown distant. He described Wunmi as someone who doesn’t tolerate nonsense and reacts when provoked.
But Wunmi was far from pleased with this revelation. Taking to Instagram, she released a fiery video questioning why private disputes are constantly dragged into podcasts.
“So should we also go and rent a husband to hold the mic and spoil things? The person this sub is for knows it already. You’re an elder, please stop this,” she stated.
Toriola further lambasted Owo, saying:
“Must every rift now be dragged to podcasts? They gave you a mic, and you started talking rubbish. They gave you pepper soup, and you began blabbing. Am I a mad woman? Will I lash out if people don’t offend me? Have I ever insulted you before? Despite all your unfortunate behaviours, I still respect you.”
The exchange has sparked massive reactions online, as fans debate whether Owo’s revelations were unnecessary or Wunmi’s reaction was too harsh.
