The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Turaki (SAN), has urged party members to remain calm, insisting that the party’s current internal challenges are temporary.
In a New Year statement, Turaki blamed the situation on what he described as proxies of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing that the PDP remains strong and determined to overcome the impasse. He said the party is committed to reclaiming its role as a credible alternative capable of delivering good governance and economic relief.
Turaki criticised the APC-led government over fuel subsidy removal, naira depreciation, rising electricity tariffs and new tax policies, which he said have worsened hardship for Nigerians. He urged citizens to reflect on the PDP era, noting achievements in economic stability, infrastructure, agriculture and technology.
He reaffirmed PDP’s resolve to reposition and restore hope across the country.
