US Resumes Surveillance Over North-East Nigeria to Track Militants

The United States has resumed intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations over Nigeria’s north-east, focusing on ISWAP in the Sambisa Forest, Borno State.

The Gulfstream V aircraft, operated by Tenax Aerospace, continues to monitor militants after Thursday night’s airstrikes in Sokoto. Flight tracking shows daily missions since November 24 from a Ghanaian hub, aiming to gather intelligence on terrorist groups and locate a kidnapped US pilot.

NSA Nuhu Ribadu’s recent talks with US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth paved the way for continued collaboration. Following the initial strikes, President Trump confirmed further operations are planned to counter ISIS-affiliated militants in Nigeria.
