ADC Slams Tinubu Over US Airstrikes in Sokoto

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has condemned President Bola Tinubu’s administration over the recent airstrikes carried out by the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) in Sokoto State, describing the development as a sign of historic incompetence.

In a statement on Friday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said while ADC supports lawful efforts to protect Nigerian lives, the foreign military operation reflects deep governance and security failures. He warned that allowing external forces to conduct direct combat missions on Nigerian soil is unsustainable and could weaken Nigeria’s long-term strategic and sovereign interests.

Abdullahi also questioned Nigeria’s operational role, cautioning against reducing the country to an informant position in a mission it should lead. He urged the Federal Government to clarify operational control, casualty figures, and the identities of terrorists killed.
