The Dollar to Naira black market rate, also known as the Aboki FX rate, remained high on Friday, 26th December 2025, reflecting continued pressure on the foreign exchange market.
Checks at the Lagos parallel market show that Bureau De Change (BDC) operators sold the US dollar at ₦1,475, while buyers exchanged at ₦1,467 per dollar. This rate represents the prevailing street value for individuals and businesses seeking quick forex transactions outside official channels.
It is important to note that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognise the black market. The apex bank has repeatedly advised Nigerians to access foreign exchange through licensed commercial banks and approved financial institutions.
Despite this position, the parallel market continues to serve as a reference point for daily dollar to naira pricing across the country.
