The National Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Dan Nwanyanwu, has declared that Nigeria’s military has all it takes to decisively defeat bandits and terrorists, insisting the ongoing security crisis should be “a simple task” for the Armed Forces.
Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Nwanyanwu argued that Nigeria’s troops have faced tougher combat situations during international peacekeeping assignments and emerged successful.
He suggested that the real challenge lies not in military capacity but in the absence of straightforward political directives that would allow the military to act effectively. According to him, the current insecurity persists not because the Armed Forces are incapable, but because they are not being empowered to fully deploy their strength.
Nwanyanwu maintained that with the right leadership decisions, Nigeria’s insecurity problems could be swiftly contained.
