Ibrahim Chatta Emerges Highest-Paid Yoruba Actor, Charges ₦5 Million Per Movie

Versatile Nigerian actor, Ibrahim Chatta, is once again in the spotlight after a revelation about his jaw-dropping earnings surfaced online.

Veteran actor Mustapha Bakare Otolo disclosed the figures during a trending interview, where he lamented the financial challenges faced by older actors in the industry.

According to Otolo, while many veteran actors earn between ₦250,000 and ₦300,000 per role, Chatta currently commands ₦5 million per movie — making him one of the most sought-after actors in Nollywood.

“If Ibrahim Chatta appears on a movie set, he’s been paid ₦5 million. That’s his current rate. He’s the highest paid actor presently,” Otolo said.

He added that Chatta’s consistency and work ethic make him capable of featuring in up to 20 productions monthly, far ahead of many of his contemporaries.

Otolo, who recently worked with Chatta on the movie Jigi in Ogbomoso, noted that this huge earning gap makes it difficult for most veteran actors to fund or produce cinema-standard films.
