Portable Blasts Nigerians Flaunting iPhone 17 Without Basic Comforts

Controversial street artiste Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has once again stirred online debate after shading Nigerians who flaunt expensive gadgets but struggle to afford basic necessities.

In a now-viral video, the Zazoo Zeh crooner mocked people boasting of the new iPhone 17 despite lacking cars or stable housing.

“You dey use iPhone 17, you no get four tyres, you go soon tire,” Portable said in his usual street tone, urging Nigerians to focus on hustle and self-improvement rather than social media validation.

Portable also took a swipe at phone importers and dealers, accusing them of flooding the market with fake iPhone 17s and duping unsuspecting buyers.

“Una don bring Chinese, una wan dupe people. You dey spoil business,” he lamented, warning users to be cautious.

His comments sparked mixed reactions online. While many applauded him for speaking hard truths about misplaced priorities, others criticized his delivery as too brash.

Despite the backlash, Portable’s punchline — “You dey use iPhone 17, you no get four tyre, you go soon tire” — has become a trending catchphrase, fueling discussions about Nigeria’s obsession with luxury living over financial stability.
