It would be recalled that Samson Haruna lost his life in a domestic fire incident following an alleged dispute with his wife at their residence in Akwa Ibom State.

Retyit’s last post, now trending online, showed her dressed in Hausa traditional attire, radiating calmness and beauty. A soulful song played in the background as she captioned the video with the Hausa phrase “Barka da di,” which translates to “Welcome to the reward.”
The cryptic nature of the caption, coupled with the tragic death of her husband, has triggered intense discussions online, with many questioning the meaning behind her choice of words.
Priest Shares Emotional Last Chat With Late Officer
Meanwhile, a Catholic priest, said to have been close to the deceased, shared his last chat with Samson Haruna before his untimely death.
In the emotional exchange, Samson expressed deep gratitude, writing:
“Good afternoon, my mentor sir. Thank you for everything you’ve always done for me and my family. God bless you and your lovely family richly always in Jesus’ name.”
The priest responded:
“Thank you so much for everything and your concern. God bless you endlessly.”
The couple, Samson and Retyit, had only tied the knot in April 2025, in a beautiful ceremony attended by family, close friends, and military colleagues — making the tragedy all the more heartbreaking.
