Bishop Ndubueze Claims Occult Group Behind Viral Nude Video Scandal

The General Overseer of Champion Cathedral in Abakaliki, Professor Bishop Sam Onyeagoziri Ndubueze, has made serious allegations against members of an occultic group in his community, claiming they are orchestrating a campaign of blackmail and intimidation against him. This follows his public condemnation of their activities.

In a recent interview, Bishop Ndubueze revealed that the trouble began after he criticized a local cultic group known as the Omabe masquerade on his community’s WhatsApp platform. He stated that members of the group began threatening him shortly after his post gained traction.

On September 1, 2025, his phones were stolen in Abakaliki, an incident he initially did not link to the threats. He reported the theft to Chief Engineer Chijoke Ikeagwu, the Onicha Development Union chairman, who assisted him in blocking his accounts. The following day, he approached the Crack Department of the Nigeria Police, Ebonyi State Command, to officially document his complaint.

Bishop Ndubueze alleged that shortly after filing his report, he received a phone call from unknown individuals demanding ₦10 million to suppress damaging information they claimed to possess about him. He recounted, “They told me if I didn’t comply, they would send me packing from Abakaliki because of my stand against their masquerade.” Attempts to trace the number revealed it to be unregistered.

In a disturbing turn of events, doctored nude photographs purportedly involving him began circulating on social media platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook. The bishop asserted that these images were manipulated using artificial intelligence technology. “Those pictures were taken from my traditional wedding thanksgiving years ago. They used my face from that event to fabricate something entirely false,” he stated.

He clarified that some of the photos on his stolen phone involved a young woman, now 26, who had previously lived with him. This woman had been a victim of sexual harassment by a group of boys who threatened to publicize her pictures. “She sent those pictures to me for safekeeping. None of her nude pictures had me by her side. What’s trending online is a manipulation; they only merged my image from the chest upwards with hers,” he explained.

Bishop Ndubueze has called on security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and bring the perpetrators to justice.
