The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that political party lines no longer exist in Rivers State, saying all major forces have collapsed into a single coalition backing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Wike described the alignment as a “Renewed Hope Family” — a broad coalition uniting former rivals for the political future of Rivers State.
According to the former governor, the coalition will determine key political outcomes in the state, including governorship and legislative seats, after delivering Tinubu’s second term. He assured residents that their support for the president since 2023 is already yielding benefits, with better outcomes expected in the coming year.
Wike urged Rivers people to remain loyal, thanking community leaders for taking what he described as a bold political decision. His comments come amid ongoing tours across local governments, widely seen as indirect pressure on Governor Siminalayi Fubara ahead of the next election cycle.
