Tinubu Seeks Nigerians’ Support as FG Takes Over Akure Medical Complex

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigerians to support his administration’s ongoing efforts to build a world-class healthcare system across the country.

The President made the appeal in Akure, the Ondo State capital, during the official handover of the Akure complex of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH) to the newly established Federal University of Technology Akure Teaching Hospital (FUTATH).

Represented by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, Tinubu said his administration remains committed to expanding the reach and quality of healthcare delivery in collaboration with state governments.

“To achieve this goal, our government is expanding the footprints of the Nigerian health sector in partnership with state governments,” Pate said.

“The new federal teaching hospital will transform the health landscape of Ondo State and Nigeria in terms of training, research, and medical services.”

He praised the Ondo State Government for its collaboration and support in facilitating the transfer process, noting that the project reflects President Tinubu’s determination to strengthen the nation’s health and social systems.

“His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is committed to changing the health and social landscape of this country with focus, boldness, and determination,” Pate added.

The minister also assured health workers transitioning to the new federal hospital of improved welfare and professional development, urging them to serve with dedication and compassion.

“We will cherish you, build you, and support your commitment to the service of our people and humanity,” he assured.
