The Ministry of Petroleum Resources has launched a full digital transformation initiative, automating all operations under the Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) to ensure paperless workflows, improved efficiency, and transparency across Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
Speaking at the Abuja launch, Minister of State, Heineken Lokpobiri, highlighted that the system will streamline approvals, internal communications, and engagements with regulators and operators, reducing bureaucracy and operational costs. The Head of Service, Didi Walson-Jack, emphasized that ECMS enables secure record management, clear audit trails, and faster decision-making while aligning with federal directives for full digitalisation by December 31, 2025.
The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) also announced a new chief executive, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, who pledged to enhance regulatory efficiency, investment confidence, and upstream production through transparency and digital adoption.
