The Labour Party has inaugurated new leadership for the Adamawa State Chapter.

The party has established a 14-member state caretaker committee to oversee its affairs.

During the inauguration in Yola on Wednesday, the Deputy National Chairman of the Labour Party, Bishop Esther Gulmu, urged the committee to adhere to the party’s constitution while managing its activities.

The committee will be chaired by Beatrice Benjamin.

In her acceptance speech, Beatrice Benjamin promised a smooth transition and described the committee’s formation as necessary to unify the party and guide it toward progress.

She declared, “We are here not to fight anyone but to build policy, advocacy, and to promote democracy, and to be all-inclusive and to carry everybody along.

“Without you, I am not anybody and without your support, I can’t go anywhere, so I’m relying on your support and experience.”

The Labour Party in Adamawa State has been plagued by internal conflicts for years, with the former chairman, Nicholas Christopher, facing continuous challenges from party members who refused to recognize his leadership.
