Christian leaders in Southern Kaduna have raised strong concerns over what they describe as weak government response to the Kurmin Wali mass abduction of Christian worshippers.
Speaking at the 2026 Southern Kaduna Prayer Summit in Kafanchan, Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Nuhu Kure urged the Kaduna State Government and security agencies to act swiftly to rescue the abducted Southern Kaduna worshippers, warning that delays are deepening trauma for affected families.
He noted that nearly two weeks after the incident, no victim has been released, despite precedents where early intervention led to quicker rescues. While thankful that no deaths have been confirmed, Kure stressed that the emotional and economic toll on families is severe.
The cleric also criticised ransom demands of up to ₦80 million, saying rural farmers cannot meet such figures under current economic realities. Lawmaker Daniel Amos added that prayers for peace and national stability must continue, especially ahead of another election year.
