Iran Defies Trump Threats As Mass Rallies Rock Tehran

Iran has declared it is prepared for any action from the United States as pro-government supporters flooded the streets of Tehran amid deadly nationwide unrest. Iranian authorities accused the US and Israel of fueling the violence to justify military intervention, while insisting that economic protests must not turn violent.

Speaking to Al Jazeera, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, said the country was ready for any military option Washington might consider, adding that Iran would defend itself if tested. He also assured citizens that internet services, largely shut down for days, would soon be restored.

As tensions rose, hundreds of thousands rallied in support of the government, projecting strength against what officials described as foreign-backed destabilisation. Meanwhile, international concern mounted, with the US, Australia and Germany urging their citizens to leave Iran.

European leaders warned that sustained violence could further erode the government’s legitimacy, even as Iran maintained it was open to peaceful solutions.
