The Lagos State House of Assembly is in mourning following the passing of Samuel Aina, a prominent party leader from Oshodi/Isolo.
During a plenary session on Tuesday, Stephen Ogundipe, the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Security and Strategy, shared the news of Aina’s death and reflected on his significant contributions to the community.
Aina served as the local government chairman from 1999 to 2003, during which he oversaw the construction of the current local government secretariat.
Ajomale Oladipo, the lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency II, praised Aina as a leader worthy of emulation, highlighting his impeccable character.
Speaker Mudashiru Obasa described Aina as a father figure whose legacy is unmatched. He instructed the Clerk of the House, Olalekan Onafeko, to send a condolence letter to Aina’s family.
In related news, following the recent deaths of newly elected councilors in the state, Obasa emphasized the importance of prioritizing health over political ambitions.
