Wike: Thinking Outside the Box to Meet Tinubu’s Expectations

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, emphasized his commitment to fulfilling his responsibilities without constantly seeking assistance from President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking at the flag-off of the construction of Access Roads ILS 02 and ILS 03 (Timipre Sylva Street) in Mabushi District, Abuja, Wike stated, “I can’t be running to Mr. President every day to complain; I should think outside of the box.”

Wike highlighted the importance of taking initiative in his role, stating, “The assignment he gave me is not for me to give excuses every day. Mr. President, I want to see you, what is it? One complaint or the other.” He expressed concern that frequent complaints could lead the President to question his capability to perform the job.

He urged all public servants and National Assembly members to be dedicated, noting that a time will come when they will be asked to present their achievements. Wike’s remarks reflect a proactive approach to governance, focusing on accountability and effective leadership.
