Shock as Impostor Opens Fake Facebook Account in Senator Sharafadeen Alli’s Name to Defraud Nigerians

Nigerians have been warned to be on high alert after an impostor allegedly created a fake Facebook account in the name of Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, representing Oyo South Senatorial District under the All Progressives Congress (APC), with the intent of defrauding unsuspecting citizens.

The revelation was made in a statement released by the Senator’s media office on Sunday, and made available to DAILY POST.

According to the statement, the impostor has been using the fake profile to lure people into fraudulent transactions and online communication.

Public Warning Issued

Senator Alli urged his constituents and the general public to be extremely cautious, stressing that he does not use social media to request money, personal details, or business engagements.

In his words:
“We strongly advise the public not to engage in any transaction or communication with anyone on social media platforms, particularly Facebook, Messenger, or any other similar channels, claiming to represent Senator Alli. The Senator does not solicit funds, personal details, or business dealings through social media.”

Call for Action Against Scammer

The Senator further appealed to Nigerians to report anyone behind the fake account to law enforcement agencies.

“Anyone who has information about the impostor is kindly urged to report to the nearest police station for necessary action,” the statement added.

This development highlights the growing wave of online impersonation and fraud, as criminals increasingly target public figures to deceive unsuspecting victims.
