The Obidient Movement in Anambra State has officially endorsed the Labour Party’s governorship candidate, Dr. George Moghalu, ahead of the November 8 election.
Morris Monye, the Director of Mobilization for the Obidient Movement, led a high-powered delegation to Moghalu’s campaign office in Awka over the weekend. Monye, who played a crucial role in rallying grassroots support for Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election, emphasized the movement’s commitment to good governance.
“The Obidient Movement is about good governance, accountability, and development. Dr. Moghalu embodies these values, and Anambra deserves a leader who will return governance to the people,” Monye stated during the visit.
The delegation also met with the Obidient collegiate leadership in the state for strategic discussions. The Obidient Movement, recognized as one of Nigeria’s most influential youth-driven political forces, has maintained a strong presence in both urban and rural communities across Anambra since 2023.
Political analysts suggest that this endorsement could significantly influence the upcoming governorship race in favor of the Labour Party. As the political landscape heats up, the Labour Party is relying on the grassroots mobilization and energy of the Obidient Movement to enhance its prospects in what is anticipated to be one of the most competitive elections in recent years.
