Biodun Oyebanji Unfazed by Kayode Ojo Ahead of APC Primary Elections

A former Lawmaker representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1, Bimbo Daramola, has stated that the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, is not intimidated by fellow aspirant Kayode Ojo as the All Progressive Congress (APC) prepares for its primary elections on October 27.

Daramola dismissed rumors claiming that Oyebanji had prohibited cabinet members and local government chairmen from engaging with Ojo and other aspirants, asserting that the Governor is a democrat.

While addressing journalists in Ado-Ekiti, Daramola emphasized that Oyebanji has the right to express his opinions on any matter. He also noted that there is no crisis within the APC, confidently asserting that the incumbent Governor will win the primary without issues.

When questioned about the primary election method that might favor Oyebanji, Daramola stated that the Governor is capable of defeating other aspirants regardless of whether the party opts for direct or indirect primaries.

He criticized those who have condemned Oyebanji for bringing a significant number of stakeholders to the APC Secretariat in Abuja to submit his nomination form, reinforcing that the Governor is a well-respected leader, not a solitary figure.

Daramola remarked, “Oyebanji is not jittery about anybody, he’s not anxious about everybody. If you’re talking about my friend and brother, Kayode Ojo, he knows himself. What has he told you he wants to do for Ekiti people?”

He continued, “A man who has said bring the primary on is afraid? Who is afraid? No! Let me tell you, in every society, the capacity to decide varies. We are in a society that has different levels of understanding.”

In conclusion, Daramola expressed his respect for both Oyebanji and Ojo, emphasizing that he speaks based on facts and his experiences within the political landscape.
