Ubi Franklin Explains Why Wizkid, Davido And Burna Boy May Never Work Together

Music executive and talent manager, Ubi Franklin, has shared his candid thoughts on why a collaboration between Nigeria’s “Big 3” – Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy – may never happen.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Afropolitan Podcast, Ubi explained that their dominance in the Afrobeats industry has positioned them as competitors rather than collaborators.

According to him, rivalry is natural in every industry, and just like Nigeria’s top banks constantly battle for supremacy, Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy are locked in a silent competition that makes it difficult for them to unite musically.

“It would be difficult for Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy to come together. I will speak for Davido — I have never heard him say anything bad about Wizkid or Burna Boy. And I’m sure it’s the same for them. But the industry they are in makes collaboration tough. In every industry, there’s the Big 3,” Ubi stated.

Davido Clears The Air On Warri Club Incident

Meanwhile, Davido has debunked reports that he was slapped during his recent trip to Warri, Delta State.

The superstar, who had performed at a wedding before visiting a popular club, was captured in a viral video being struck on the head while leaving the venue.

Some social media users quickly alleged that a fan had slapped him. However, Davido clarified via his 𝕏 handle that it was simply one of his security personnel who mistakenly hit him in the process of shielding him from the crowd.

The revelations have sparked fresh debates among fans about the intense rivalry between Afrobeats’ leading acts and the pressures that come with being global stars.
