RMD Hails 2Baba At 50, Shares Emotional Story Of How He Became His Fan

Veteran Nollywood actor, Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD), has opened up on how he became a fan of legendary singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, after their very first encounter.

In a heartfelt Instagram post on Friday, the movie icon celebrated the music star on his 50th birthday, praising him for his music, memories, and friendship over the years.

RMD said that despite life’s struggles, 2Baba will always remain his “star boy.” He recalled inviting the musician on stage many years ago, a moment that made him a loyal fan forever.

“@official2baba happy 50th birthday brother. Come rain or shine, everybody get their own for body. You’ll always remain my star boy. I became a fan from the first day I met you and had the privilege to invite you on stage. Thank you for the music, the memories, and the journeys we’ve shared. I love you bro!” RMD wrote.

9ice Also Celebrates 2Baba

Another Nigerian music veteran, Abolore Akande, popularly known as 9ice, also joined in celebrating 2Baba on his golden jubilee.

However, 9ice added a note of caution, saying not everyone is pleased with 2Baba’s success story. According to him, some secretly wish for the Afrobeats legend to stumble, but greatness always attracts envy.

Despite this, 9ice reassured that 2Baba’s name, talent, and legacy will continue to shine through challenges.

The birthday tributes have since sparked excitement online, with fans and celebrities alike saluting one of Nigeria’s most enduring music icons.
