Renowned British actor Idris Elba has hailed Lagos as ‘the World’s most amazing city’, reminiscing about his experiences in Nigeria’s bustling commercial hub. Elba made these remarks during an interview with eTalk TV on the red carpet at the TIFF Tribute Awards.
“There are so many memories. Lagos, if you have never been there, is the most amazing place, city in the world. I had a great time. The talent there is incredible,” he stated.
The award-winning actor also shared a memorable experience involving British singer Seal, who embraced his Nigerian heritage in a recent acting role. “I got to have Seal acting. He has acted before but this is one he is acting in his accent. You know, his Nigerian heritage. That was a real blessing,” Elba noted.
Elba highlighted a significant moment during a music performance tied to the project, recalling, “One of the big standout moments is there is this really amazing song that we wrote for the film and they performed it at the end of the song. Seal and a lovely artiste called Konstance.”
The Hollywood star has long expressed admiration for African creativity and has consistently emphasized Nigeria’s growing influence on the global stage.
