Buba Galadima Accuses Tinubu’s Government of Election Manipulation Ahead of 2027

Buba Galadima, a prominent figure in the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, claiming it is unprepared to conduct free and fair elections in 2027.

In an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’ on Monday, Galadima alleged that the current government’s strategies to undermine opposition parties suggest a desire to eliminate any electoral challenges.

Despite these claims, Galadima emphasized that opposition will remain strong in the upcoming polls, warning that the All Progressives Congress (APC) risks losing if it does not amend its governance approach.

“This government is not ready to organise a free and fair election. From their antics and how they are destabilising parties, that suggests they don’t want an opposition at all for the election,” he stated. “I want to assure them that there will be opposition, and if they don’t change their style of governance, they will lose this election.”

Galadima also praised former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, referring to him as the “generalissimo” of Nigerian politics, asserting that he would consistently win Kano in a fair electoral environment. “Kwankwaso is the generalissimo of Nigeria’s politics because he is the only one, come rain, come shine, who, if there is a free and fair election, will deliver the most populous state in Nigeria,” he declared.
