It was a night of elegance and history as Faith Ekwebenam from Anambra State emerged the winner of the Miss International Nigeria 2025 pageant, clinching the national crown at the grand finale on Sunday.
Ekwebenam, who dazzled the judges with her poise and intelligence, will now represent Nigeria at the 63rd Miss International pageant scheduled for 27 November 2025 at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.
The final lineup saw Miss Lagos declared first runner-up, while Miss Bauchi, Miss Edo, Miss Cross River, and Miss Nasarawa secured second to fifth runner-up spots respectively.
Ekwebenam succeeds Perpetual Ukadike, who proudly flew the nation’s flag at the 2024 edition. Known as one of the world’s “Big Four” beauty pageants, Miss International is celebrated for blending glamour with cultural exchange and social advocacy.
In a parallel triumph, Anambra stole the spotlight once more as Onyinyechi Basil clinched the Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 crown in Lagos. Basil edged out Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, in a tense final two showdown before being crowned the winner.
Other notable finalists included Miss Bayelsa, Fortune Kurobo, who finished as second runner-up, and Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi, who placed third.
With two Anambra-born queens now holding Nigeria’s top international pageant titles, the state has made history, drawing praise from industry experts who hailed the unprecedented achievement.
All eyes are now set on Ekwebenam in Japan and Basil on the Miss Universe stage, as pageant fans eagerly anticipate Nigeria’s global performance later this year.
