UNILAG Lecturer Accused of Sexually Assaulting 20-Year-Old Student

A senior lecturer at the Faculty of Management, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Dr. Samuel Ojogbo, has been accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old female student.

The student, a 300-level undergraduate whose name is withheld, alleged that the lecturer invited her into his office on August 22, 2025, at around 12:00 noon, and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.

She formally reported the incident to the police on August 28, 2025, after which she was taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Confirming the case to Tribune Online, UNILAG’s spokesperson, Mrs. Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, revealed that the police had commenced investigations while the university’s Safeguarding Centre is offering support to the victim.

She further disclosed that a panel has been constituted by the university to probe the allegation, with findings to be released to the public once the process is concluded.

Reiterating the institution’s zero-tolerance policy for sexual harassment, Alaga-Ibraheem assured that the university will ensure justice is served and urged students to report any form of misconduct through official channels.
