Former Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, has launched a scathing critique of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, stating that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar would have been a better leader for Nigeria.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Tambuwal argued that Tinubu’s leadership exposes his lack of federal governance experience.
“Tinubu has always been confined to Lagos. He has never been a federal operator and does not understand the system,” Tambuwal declared.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives expressed concern that, two years and nearly three months into Tinubu’s administration, Nigeria still lacks appointed ambassadors. “Atiku is better at getting the job done than Tinubu,” he said, stressing that Atiku’s grasp of national dynamics far outweighs Tinubu’s localised experience.
Tambuwal further revealed that while he is “shocked” by Tinubu’s governance style, he cannot claim to be disappointed. “I campaigned against him, so I’m not surprised. But I’m shocked at the way Nigeria is being run under his watch,” he noted.
