Senator Adams Oshiomhole has described United States President Donald Trump’s public recognition of First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, as a major diplomatic boost for Nigeria.
Speaking to journalists after visiting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House, Abuja, Oshiomhole said Trump’s remarks reflected global respect for Nigeria’s leadership and values. He noted that the US President, known for his direct style, openly praised Mrs Tinubu as a respectable and responsible woman, and invited her to stand for recognition at a public event.
According to Oshiomhole, the moment generated applause and pride, describing it as an honour not just to the First Family but to the entire country. He added that the gesture symbolised Nigeria’s religious harmony, stressing that a Muslim president with a Christian wife who is also a pastor shows unity and mutual respect.
The former APC chairman urged Nigerians to remain united and hopeful, saying the nation’s challenges are solvable and already receiving attention under the current leadership.
