President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated two Nigerians, Muhammed Ali Pate and Anna Adeola Makanju, following their nomination to the 2026 Devex Power 50 Nigeria list.
Pate, Nigeria’s Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, and Makanju, Vice President for Global Impact at OpenAI, were recognised among 50 global leaders shaping the future of international development.
In a statement released by his Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the recognition as well deserved, saying it reflects the depth of Nigerian talent at home and in the diaspora.
The President urged both honourees to sustain their global impact and continue projecting Nigeria positively. Devex highlighted Pate’s work on health reforms and local production of medical supplies, while Makanju was recognised for shaping responsible AI governance and advising governments on innovation and safety.
The Devex Power 50 Nigeria recognition places the country firmly on the global development map.
