Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has clearly stated that he will contest the 2027 presidential election as the main candidate, dismissing speculations that he may accept a vice-presidential role.
Speaking during a campaign outing in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Obi said he is fully committed to running at the top of the ticket. His statement comes amid growing pressure from different political blocs, including renewed calls for a possible alliance that would place him as a running mate.
Obi’s declaration has energized supporters within the Obidient Movement, many of whom have insisted on an “Obi or nothing” stance ahead of 2027. He urged voters in AMAC to support his preferred ADC candidate, describing the local election as a strategic step in his wider political journey.
According to Obi, grassroots victories are crucial to building momentum for national change. He assured supporters that his involvement in the upcoming elections is deliberate and central to his ambition to lead Nigeria.
