Former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, has declared that political rivalries in Kano State are over following Governor Abba Yusuf’s defection to the party. Speaking on BBC Hausa, Ganduje described the move as a major victory, marking a new era of unity and development in the state.
He assured that party leadership issues are temporary and will be resolved through upcoming congresses, while the APC is now fully focused on supporting Governor Yusuf’s administration. Ganduje emphasised that the success of the state government would be a collective achievement for the party.
On party strategy, he explained that sitting governors traditionally get the first right of refusal for re-election, and reassured that current arrangements would not hinder governance. He also mentioned that reconciliation with the Kwankwasiyya movement, led by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, remains possible, signalling openness to broader political harmony in Kano.
