Army Chief Tasks Troops on Excellence as Training Translates to Battlefront

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has charged Nigerian Army personnel to turn the skills acquired from Exercise Restore Hope IX into concrete operational victories as they confront security threats nationwide.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony in Kachia, Kaduna State, Shaibu stressed that modern warfare requires discipline, adaptability, teamwork and professionalism beyond courage alone. He described the exercise as a core element of the Army’s transformation drive, aimed at producing a resilient and mission-ready force for joint and multi-agency operations.

The Army Chief emphasised that battlefield success must align with professionalism and respect for human rights to sustain public trust. He praised instructors for maintaining high training standards and noted that past graduates had continued to excel in operational theatres.

Meanwhile, troops of 1 Division, Operation Fansan Yamma, foiled a bandit attack in Kaduna, neutralising a suspected extremist during a swift ambush, underscoring the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations in securing vulnerable communities.
